What's NEW with the Blue Angels?

TRYOUTS FOR 2012 SPRING/SUMMER
12U AND 14U A-LEVEL TEAMS

Blue Angels is a competitive girls fastpitch travel club based in Marin County. With a tradition of athletic excellence dating back more than 20 years, Blue Angels gives players the opportunity to have a positive team experience, advance their skills, and develop discipline, confidence, and leadership. All while having fun!

TRYOUTS: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2011 @ KENT MIDDLE SCHOOL

12U (Girls born in 1999 or later): 11AM – 1PM.

14U (Girls born in 1997 or later): 1PM – 3PM.

Check in at least 15 minutes before start time. Pitchers and catchers will stay 30 minutes after the general tryout. In case of rain, we plan to reschedule for the following Sunday. Tryouts for our 10U and second 12U teams will be held in 2012.

HEAD COACHES FROM HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY TEAMS

12U: Stevie Lee. Varsity head softball coach at the Branson School, Stevie takes the reins of our 12U A-team. He brings many years of coaching experience at the high school, travel, and rec levels, and was previously the Varsity head softball coach at Sacred Heart Cathedral in San Francisco.

14U: Nina Richardson. Nina is the new Varsity head softball coach and JV basketball coach at Marin Academy. Originally from Hawaii, Nina is a former Div. II college player at Adams State in Colorado, and has coaching experience at 3 colleges and 2 JCs. She has also attended numerous college-level coaching clinics, and has done college recruiting.

GAME PLAN

Practices begin late January, and ramp up through late July/early August.
Tournament schedule TBD. Expect 7-8 tournaments for 12U and 8-9 for 14U
(e.g., 2-3 from February to May and 5-6 from June to early August.)

Coaching: We continue to raise our standards by adding local experts
to strengthen the program. Nina Richardson, a former Division II
player, experienced college coach and new Varsity softball coach at
Marin Academy is leading our 14U team. Stevie Lee, current high school
softball coach at Branson, former Varsity head coach at Sacred Heart
Cathedral and long time travel ball coach, is taking the reins on our
12U squad. And Roni Sparrey, former Division 1 player and head coach,
and current head coach at Dominican University, helps train rigorous
fundamentals for several of our teams.
